Penrith Anglican College occupies 18 hectares on one of the highest hills in Penrith. It has magnificent views across the city to the Blue Mountains. The building design places special emphasis upon care of the environment. Many of the classrooms are of earth shelter construction, similar to Parliament House in Canberra. All classrooms are air-conditioned.
Spacious classrooms are grouped around large common “learning centres”, where students can access our “cutting edge” computer network and other library resources. There are discrete libraries within the learning centres: each has been set up to cater for specific age groups from Kindergarten to Year 12. This allows for flexible learning approaches to be used to prepare students in this new millennium.
The College has a gymnasium, a 550-seat theatre, an oval, three basketball courts, four cricket nets, play equipment and generous landscaping to enhance our buildings and beautiful location.
Our Preparatory (K-2) students have their own designated playground “The Farm”, consisting of a shaded seating area, oval and play equipment.
Pre-K students are housed in brand new dedicated classrooms attached to the new administration building with a purpose built playground.
On 19th August 2011, Penrith Anglican College officially opened the new Junior School Performing Arts Centre, (the Lighthouse Theatre). The theatre is a 550-seat performing arts centre with a café and VIP lounge. It features professional industry standard lighting and audio equipment as well as projection facilities for presentations. In its opening year it hosted a number of College and professional productions including the Wizard of Oz, a James Morrison concert, and the album launch concert of the Idea of North’s Extraordinary Tale.
The theatre is also home to Christ Church @ the College which holds services at 9.30am each Sunday.
The Lighthouse Café opened in Term 2, 2012 and serves ethically sourced Ministry Grounds barista coffee to parents, staff and visitors to the College. The café is operated by Christ Church @ the College and is open Monday to Friday from 8.00 till 12.30pm.
