About the Headmaster

Barry Roots was appointed foundation Headmaster of Penrith Anglican College in September 1997, having spent the previous 25 years in public and independent schooling.

Mr Roots was born in the local area, was educated in local schools, married here and chooses to raise his family here.

Mr Roots is a member of the Association of Heads of Independent Schools of Australia (AHISA), the Heads of Independent Co-educational Schools (HICES), the Australian College of Education and the Australian College of Educational Administration.

Mr Roots is also a strong advocate of parental choice in schooling and welcomes visitors to Penrith Anglican College.
