K – Year 2 Curriculum
In these early years of school, Penrith Anglican College is committed to providing a caring environment where all children have the opportunity to explore their academic, social, emotional and spiritual gifts.
Our classrooms are located around a central learning centre, where students can access the computer network and year appropriate library resources. All of our Prep classrooms are equipped with smart boards, which enable interactive learning. From this early stage the College places emphasis on the acquisition of literacy and numeracy skills and children are taught in ability-based groups from Kindergarten. Our Preparatory School caters for 3 classes in each year (except Year 1 and 2 operate with 4 classes whenever the children are doing literacy and numeracy work). Class sizes as a general rule are as follows:
- Kindergarten – 26 students
- Years 1-2 – 28 Students
Our Kindergarten to Year 2 students have their own designated playground “The Farm”, consisting of a shaded seating area, oval and play equipment.
